Lucy
Chan-Ng Bio
Born in Hong Kong and educated in Canada, Lucy Chan-Ng
went to Hong Kong to start her career after graduating from Centennial
College in Markham Ontario in 1981. She quickly rose to prominence in
the marketing and public relations fields in Hong Kong and became known
for her special skills in marketing high-end luxury products and
services. She had held several senior positions within international
players such as Waterford Wedgewood, the Regal Meridien Hotel and Sing
Tao Ltd in Hong Kong. Furthermore, as a voice and advertising talent,
she was often heard or seen on TV in Hong Kong.
In 1990, Lucy returned to Canada and pursued a new life
and a new career in finance. She has held positions of Business
Development Manager at Canada Trust Company and Regional Manager at the
Navigator Fund Company. In 1995, she joined the Richmond Chinatown
Lions’ Club through a friend’s referral. Since then, she has been a
devoted Lion servicing many positions from Tail Twister, Director, 3rd
VP to currently Club Secretary. Though she had transferred to the
Vancouver Metropolitan Lions for a few years, she has now returned to
her roots and devotes her time to serve Richmond and her home Club.
In 1999 Lucy founded Key Management Inc. a company which provides
cross-cultural marketing management services in Vancouver and Richmond.
In recent years, with her new strong interest in event planning,
decorations and production work, she has repositioned her business to
provide total event planning and management services for both commercial
and private clients.
In 2001, together with her husband James Ng, Lucy
founded Jamagine Music Production, a music and entertainment company
which provides cross cultural entertainment all over the lower mainland.
Together with their 7 piece signature band “Jeneration O” they have
participated in numerous charity works, corporate events and wedding
projects.
In 2003, Lucy co-chaired a fund-raising campaign that
raised over $130,000 benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society.
Recently, Lucy was the event coordinator and show
producer for the Richmond Chinatown Lions’ Charity Project – “Lions for
Cool-Aid” on March 8, 2008, and has successfully raised $25,000
benefiting the Richmond Food Bank. She has devoted three months of her
time along with the Event Co-Chair in achieving this project.
Lucy is blessed by the wisdom of Lionism and has always
been inspired by the works of other dedicated lions. Lucy is happily
married to James Ng, a pharmacist and also a very talented musician and
song writer. Together they have a daughter named Ophelia and she has
just turned sixteen.
