I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I am married to fellow Lion Troy Nakamura;  we have three children and four grandsons.  Upon my retirement as a Project Engineer in the electrical industry in Hawaii, my wife and I moved in 1995 to  Langley, Washington on Whidbey Island.  I immediately became involved with community service organizations and joined the South Whidbey Lions in February 2000; my sponsor was  Lion Jim Eakin.

I was Lion Tamer from 2000 to 2003, Sight & Hearing Chairperson from 2003 to present, White Cane Chairperson from 2003 to present, named Lion of the Year for 2002-2003, 3rd Vice President in 2003-2004, 2nd Vice President in 2004-2005, 1st Vice President in 2005-2006, President in 2006-2007, President in 2007-2008.  I received the Presidents Excellence Award in 2006-2007 and the Retention Excellence Award from IPP Jimmy Ross in 2006-2007, as well as 100% Attendance Awards for every year of my membership.  I have served as representative to District H Governor Garry Lutz’s Cabinet, for NLFSH in 2006-2007 and served  as representative to District H Governor Grev Edgelow’s Cabinet, for NLFSH in 2007-2008.

My hobbies are woodworking, traveling, and being involved with the Lions and other community service organizations.
